Watching in awe as Atlantis takes off for STS-135 – the final shuttle mission.

Having already enjoyed eating at both St. John Bread and Wine as well as the original St. John, it took little encouragement to splurge out on a Sunday lunch with Winnie and Jayna at Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver’s latest venture in Leicester Square.

Following the belief that you should start the year as you mean to go on, after the first week of work of 2011 I hooked up with Winnie to treat ourselves to some fabulous seafood at the recently-opened branch of Wright Brothers in Kingly Court.

Back at the start of June, Winnie invited me to enjoy a bit of culture on a sunny Saturday with a matinee performance at the Young Vic theatre.

After all the ice-climbing earlier in the day, what could be better but to head over to Kay and Andrew’s new apartment for a home-cooked meal.
