Project LSq – Part 3

As the refurbishment works on my apartment (hopefully) comes to a close next week, here’s some updated photos of how the place looked two weeks ago as my builder got the kitchen installed and the place started to turn from a construction site to the outline of a home.

After gutting out the apartment, the key piece of the jigsaw was getting the kitchen fitted so that the builders could then install the heritage oak laminate flooring as well as the skirting boards.

In the living area, and throughout the apartment, the walls and ceiling have been repainted brilliant white to make the most of the little natural daylight that comes in. But the coup de grace here is my cream Howdens kitchen. Even though it’s not finished, and took ages chasing all the parts, it’s started to look like it was worth all that pain. Am so looking forward to entertaining in this space!

Standing in the kitchen and looking back into the living area, on the left hand side will be the sofa whilst on the right hand side will be my designer desk that will be mounted onto the wall (if it all goes to plan). Not sure what’s going to be between the two yet but suspect a side table / bookcase / plant or a combination of all three will be there.

Moving into the bedroom, it was good to see this room almost finished with only the lighting, blinds, and additional electrical sockets left to be installed. On this wall facing the camera will be two double white gloss wardrobe on the left and a matching radiator on the right. And looking from the opposite angle, this corner will be where my kingsize bed and side table are located.

So a final push next week to get the place liveable and then IT Girl and I can clean the place from top to bottom so that I can move in the week after that. Time is just dragging now and I can’t wait to move in properly – even if my bed and sofa don’t arrive for weeks yet!

Coming up next, the finished flat before all the furniture starts to put together and installed.
