Taking time out, having finished my workshop for the day in Budapest, here’s a selection of photos from my company’s summer event last month that I both had fun participating in as well as covering partially.
Held at the Honourable Artillery Company grounds off City Road, we spent the afternoon baking under a super hot day assigned to competing teams in a number of hilarious games such as:
- Human skittles … with one team was stuffed in padded skittles suits on a bouncy platform whilst the opposing team swung a weighted ball around a pendulum to knock as many people over as possible
- Human table football … strapped to a bar we tried to score or defend … but mainly just trying to get the ball and control it with even a modicum of skill
- Giant netball … which was a lot harder than it looked trying to throw and score with a massive inflated ball
This all lead up to an old-fashioned school race to determine the final score and, hurrah, my team came second overall!
The evening finished up with a full-on BBQ and it was a great way to have a laugh, meet new people, and get to know my new company better. Though for days afterwards my body totally ached as payback for throwing myself way too much each game and not having done any exercise for months!!!
