Mugen

Catching up with my backlog of photos and the lack of any recent restaurant posts, here’s my visit to Mugen with Ros back in May for some good Japanese food and even better conversation.

Given where I work and where I live, I hardly ever venture into the City for food but since Ros worked there it was a pleasant change to check out the dining scene in that part of London. We picked across the whole menu and shared both a crunchy spider roll and succulent kushi-yaki. I opted for a simple udon dish with tempura – both of which were delicately flavoured – whilst Ros went for a salmon overdose with her dish!

We finished off the meal with some creamy green tea ice-cream which Ros dutifully devoured as it was just a touch too much dairy for me – not that she needed much persuading!

So if you happen to be in the City and looking for a decent dinner without breaking the bank then check this place out.

It looks just the same as KIMBAB in Korea.

@Yeji: Yep. Though when I had kimbap for the first time at Incheon airport I was thinking … oh this is like Japanese sushi! Still … it was really delicious. :)
