Hong Kong to London

Final day of this trip and it was basically shopping and eating. Lots and lots of shopping and eating which seriously dented my AMEX!

The eating started with Ada and I catching up with Diva (whom we met in Pagsangan) and her friend, Helene, for breakfast in Tsim Tsa Tsui. Next, was dim sum with my parents in Lei Garden as they happened to be in Hong Kong at the same time.  It was kinda cool as it was the first time we’ve all been together there since I was a toddler. What wasn’t so cool was that I introduced them to Seline and Ada which preempted a ton of teasing by all of them at the lack of my Cantonese ability … bleh!!!

Interspersed amongst all these eating was me frantically shopping with Seline and Ada – both reprising their clothing consultant roles once again – looking for suits for work as well as more casual gear.

It ended up with poor Ada having to run around HK Island picking up the suits I wanted from the stores who had them in stock whilst Seline and I hurriedly packed my suitcase and still made it to Alan, my tailor, who was literally shutting up shop when we knocked on the door! And whilst I was there Seline was a real gem getting me these cufflinks as a present to go with my new clothes.

But that wasn’t the end of all the dashing around. With time running out before I had to leave for the airport and really wanting roast duck, the girls managed to find a restaurant one MTR stop away. Once they carved up the duck each slice was sublime and totally worth risking indigestion for as I was eating even faster than I normally do – though I did eat some greens too!

And so, a week after arriving in Hong Kong I was winging my way back to London for a 29 hour stopover and my next trip. But more about that in another post. :)

Once again, my sincere thanks to Seline and Ada for always looking after me so well, as they always do when I visit Hong Kong, and doing their utmost to help me punch through my credit card limit!!!
