Day 24 of my RTW trip spent exploring two temples in the morning before cooling off in the hotel pool and then completing the day watching sunset from the top of Pre Rup.

Banteay Srei, with its pretty pink-hued stone, was the first stop which was delightfully serene and empty of the tourist crowds that we experienced in Ta Prohm. After a quick stop in a village to see how they made palm sugar candlelights (which were also edible!), we explored Banteay Samre which was built in the same style as Angkor Wat.

And after all that hard work, Ada and I had fun cooling off and relaxing in the spacious hotel pool which was refreshingly salt water based rather than the usual ozone of my pool in London.  It’s so much better swimming outdoors in the sun!

We finished up the day by climbing Pre Rup to watch sunset before heading back into Siem Reap where we were amused by Bat Rickshaw during dinner at Le Grand Cafe.
