Taking the advice of a few friends to take some time out for myself, I wandered around Greenwich and discovered, after living here for the past year, there’s another side to see.
After a nice lie-in, I started the afternoon in Greenwich Market where I came across this Argentinian food stand that was serving this sizeable chunks of steaks. I was recommended to have it rare and it was worth the wait. Seasoned simply with olive oil, sea salt, and herbs, it looked delicious and worth the fifteen minutes before I could sink my teeth into it. Just what I needed to get started.
Next up, Rhodes, a superb local artisanal bakery which does excellent bread and pretty decent coffee. Best of all, the bar seats are great to watch the world go by. As it opens seven days a week at 07:00 I keep meaning to pop in before work for breakfast but somehow staying in bed always takes priority!
Finished off the afternoon in Greenwich Park which I’ve walked through before but in reality only in a small part. As the maxim goes “if you don’t do the unexpected, nothing unexpected will happen”. So taking different paths, I enjoyed the view from other hills, discovered a lovely Rose Garden, and just had fun simply walking around and exploring until dusk fell.

Hey! Nice set of photos!
@Kay: Thanks! Am going to do more photo walks in 2010. :)
