Day 13 of the trip and highlights included taking a fascinating walking tour through Melbourne, having lunch with Jason from my India / Nepal trip, and doing an impromptu night shoot along the Yarra river.
Having enjoyed wandering around myself the day before, I spent the morning on a walking tour to get an more in-depth view of the city. The tour specialised in showcasing the hidden parts of Melbourne, the absolutely delicious chocolatiers, and explaining the prolific street art around. It was great having the commentary bring everything to life and seeing elements that I would’ve missed if I was by myself. Have to say that the chocolate truffle from Koko Black was simply joyful to eat.
Afterwards, I met up with Jason whom I travelled with back at the start of this year to India & Nepal. Great to see him once again and relive the hilarious moments from our trip as well as catch up with the present. And to commemorate the occasion we had Indian cuisine for lunch with him and his butter chicken whilst I had my Fanta accompanying my meal as I always did on the trip!
Home cooked dinner with Peter and Lynn before I had to head back into the CBD to pick up the camera strap I had accidentally left at the Korean restaurant the night before. However, that did give me the opportunity to walk along the Yarra river and photograph a little of Melbourne in its reflective floodlit glory.
Next up … my last full day in Melbourne visiting the Queen Victoria Markets, watch some street artists at work, walk around St Kilda with Avi, and and enjoy a vegetarian dinner out with Lynn and her family.
