After Perth the second quick stop was in Singapore for two nights to quickly catch up with a few friends which meant that I got to eat a lot and very often too!
The last time I was in Singapore was back in 2006 and just as I did back then I stayed over at Siok Hua’s place with her parents who haven’t changed a bit. And again I had so much fun having to switch back and forth from chatting in English with her Dad to Cantonese (done really badly) to her Mum. Got so confused but it was hilarious!
This visit was a bit of a mad panic to see as many as I could and I got to hang out with some old friends. Sarah, my big sis, who I didn’t get to see last time around as well as Wei Wei, Shirley, and Andrea from my NTU days. And, of course, Siok Hua who I first met when she visited my university in Glasgow. All of whom I’ve been friends with for over ten years now and we’ve somehow wonderfully managed to stay in touch despite the 8 time zone difference. Got to love the Internet and the jet age. :D
To those of you I missed up this visit … I’ll either see ya in the UK or when I swing by SG next time. :D
