On an relaxed Saturday, randomly ended up taking See Yun to her first BBC Proms concert so she could indulge in the dulcet tones of the soprano singing Mahler’s “Symphony No. 4 in G major” from the rafters in Prom 59.
This was my first time up in the gallery level and it gave being at the Proms a wholly different experience being able to look down at the entire concert space. It’s the same price as the arena level (£5) and although you’re that much further away from the orchestra it was a more pleasant experience with a better view, cooler air, and even space to lie on the floor rather than standing all the time.

We enjoyed the music – especially listening to the soprano who sounded magnificent. And to show their appreciation to the multiple ovations given by the audience the orchestra actually did an encore of a playful piece which was a nice added bonus.

After dinner, I introduced See Yun to my current favourite Korean restaurant – Nara – as I really like their kalbi dish. Been there that often that the manageress now recognises me. Hmm … really must try and get a discount next time I visit. :)
And completing the evening, whilst walking back to the Tube station I looked down this side street and laughed at what was on the wall.
