Two weekends back Kay and Andrew invited me to join them with Leanne and Eugene to check out the farmer’s market in Queen’s Park and whilst we were there we had this brilliant breakfast at Jack’s Cafe.

I really liked both the compactness and the authenticity of the place. It was stylish in its own timeless way without seeming to try too hard. But a restaurant is judged on the quality of the food and I definitely wasn’t disappointed.
The breakfast menu is amusing simple with a standard set that you can either order as single, double, or (if you’re feeling particularly famished) as a triple. And they even throw in both a cup of tea / coffee and you’re allowed to make one swap as I did by replacing the eggs with hash browns. I somehow refrained from totally pigging out by ordering only the double rather than the triple option. Next time definitely!

Afterwards, Kay and Andrew showed us around the farmers market where I got some juicy sweet strawberries and and saw the cute house that they had put an offer on. We also saw Queen’s Park itself and I really like the whole vibe of the area with it feeling a world away from Central and all the quirky little shops dotting the streets.
So it made for a really enjoyable start to the Sunday and my thanks to Kay and Andrew for inviting me out and showing me a part of London I’ve never visited before. :)
