Completing this series on my Korea trip, here’s the final photo set that covers my last day in Seoul spending time with Yeji, Min, and Jung-Su before I had to head back to London.
Some of the highlights were:
- Sharing breakfast with Yeji and her parents together
- Trying not to laugh at the sleepy student chefs at this tiny diner that Min, Yeji, and I went to for lunch
- Being amazed at just how super-romantic this cafe was that Min and I had coffee in as we chatted away the afternoon
- Catching up with Jung-Su to wish him well in person for his new job that was starting in day
- Basically shopping until Yeji and I dropped at COEX with a break for chocolate ice-cream of course
- Laughing our heads off Yeji took me to this Japanese photo booth to get some hilarious photos of us doing very silly things for the camera
- Enjoying the last face-to-face chat for awhile with Yeji on the long limo bus ride to the airport and giving her the last of her chocolate-themed presents
And that’s it for this trip. I always say that I had a great time and it’s especially true here. Instead of solo’ing my way around as quick as I can, it was warming to see a personal side to a country and its culture as well as just settle down just for awhile. And, of course, it is always a privilege to make some new friends along the way and here’s hoping to keep those friendships going in the months ahead.
Finally, my sincere thanks to Jung-Su for making sure that I had a good trip and to his parents for their hospitality; to Min for some of the best bulgogi I’ve ever had and basically looking after me when I got drunk on a half a shot of soju; to Yeji for all the fantastic face-to-face conversation we had together and to her parents for being so adorably welcoming.

Wow. It’s fantastic to have a look at these photos very long time after.
@Yeji: Yeah … it’s really good to be able to go back in time and see the photos and read the captions. I’m actually scanning in photos from over 15 years ago and great to be nostalgic. :)
