On my last full day in Busan, where I got to see the magnificent coastal scenery at Taejongdae and eat very well with a local Busan speciality for lunch and for dinner – Korean royal court cuisine with Jung-Su’s parents.
Some of the highlights were:
- Yet another great and totally filling breakfast from Jung-Su’s mum
- Being seriously impressed with the coastal beauty of Taejondae as sailed around the peninsula and feeling liberated watching the power of the waves crashing onshore
- Trying out one of Jung-Su’s favourite restaurant in Busan for lunch and meeting a sweet ajumma there who got me to eat this intestine rice dish
- Wandering through Jalgachi fish market hearing the shouts of the local traders, smelling the sea in the air, and looking at some really weird stuff that you could apparently eat
- Sharing a fabulous traditional meal in the royal court style with Jung-Su’s parents
Coming up next … travelling to Daejon to spend time with Yeji and her parents for the reminder of my trip.
