Seaside Easter

Waiting to catch my flight to Germany for tonight’s C&P Berlin event, I finally have some time to finish off this photo set on the last-minute day trip (plus an unplanned extension!) that See Yun and I did together to the Kent coast over the Easter weekend.

Last-minute because although we had arranged to do something we hadn’t quite figure out what exactly. So since I wanted to see the waves we drove down part of the Kent coast. First to Whitstable where we gorged ourselves on oysters (mental note: must go to their oyster festival in July), had crispy fish and chips in Herne Bay, and enchanted with the dusk falling on the sandy beach near Botany Bay off Margate.

After that it was a drive back to Southend to meet up with Wendy, who happened to be visiting her parents who live in the same county, for dinner at the new Toulouse restaurant on the sea front. The food there was fantastic and Wendy was such a sport trying raw oysters for the first time … though, unfortunately, they weren’t to her taste.

And that would’ve been the end of the evening except for the fact that it was Easter Sunday so the trains finished earlier than usual and we literally finished the meal just as the last train to London was departing. Doh!

So somewhat stranded in Southend, See Yun extended her wonderful hosting duties and offered me her sofa for the night and since she had a subtitled Korean drama series we ended up watching that until the small hours of the morning since it was actually quite riveting.

And the next morning, time for a fantastic brunch on the seafront again where I ended up talking so much that See Yun managed to finish off her entire plate of food whilst mine was still full! ^^

Really great to get out of London and see some natural beauty. My thanks to See Yun for all the driving, the fab company, and putting me up for a night!!!
