Following on from Delhi, here’s the next photo set which covers the imposing Red Fort and the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra.
Some of the highlights were:
- Travelling by 2nd class air-con train from Delhi to Agra and absolutely freezing to death
- Getting offered some tourist souvenir for 200 rupees, then 100 rupees, then 50 rupees, then 10 rupees!
- Being surprisingly amazed at the beauty of the Taj Mahal which I thought would be kinda boring since I’ve seen so many photos of it. Nothing quite like being able to walk around soaking in the atmosphere
- Getting completely carried with the crowd of so many people rushing to push their way into the tomb before it closed and seeing a lone police officer trying to fend them all back … fun trying to photograph that with all the jostling!
Coming next will be the fun journey from Agra to Orchha via Jhansi which involved a five hour wait for the train and the fun of travelling with the locals in third class.

..i feel apologetic for the discomfort u fellow souls have to at times face on this divine land.. :(
..lemme knw anytime u wish to travel n explore again..would love to be of genuine help .. :) :)
namaste.. :)
No need to apologetic at all … to me, to travel properly you have to be uncomfortable otherwise you’re not really experiencing the place, the people, and the culture.
India is such a massive country so I’m sure that I’ll be there again to see the other provinces.
