Having seen the splendour of the Taj Majal, here’s the next photo set covering our journey to Orchha by train and auto-rickshaw via Jhansi.
Some of the highlights were:
- Meeting a young orphan, who was fascinated with taking photos with my camera, and his grandmother as well as quite a character in a local man whom I believed was the head of the taxi cab association during the long wait for our train to arrive.
- Enjoying hanging outside of the train door as it sped through the countryside … it was very reminiscent of a good memory I have of doing the same thing on an antique Japanese train going over the River Kwai in Thailand back in 1999.
- Devouring the delicious home-made chapati that were cooked on an open fire at the end of the day
Coming up next will be the first of two photo sets on our stay in Orchha.
