Delhi to Kathmandu – India – Delhi

Taking a break from my new swimming routine (partly because I stupidly pulled my calf muscle by not warming up properly!) I’ve published the next photo set from my Delhi to Kathmandu trip.

This covers the first two days of the trip and some of the highlights were:

  • Arriving on Friday afternoon at Delhi expecting to fight my way through a horde of people at arrivalsĀ  … only to find it deserted which was a relief yet strangely disappointing
  • Meeting a friendly auto-rickshaw driver which, true to the guide book, insisted to take me to a shop to browse during my ride but showed me Lodi Gardens which was a nice surprise
  • Visiting the Birla House where Ghandi was assassinated and finding out about his life prior to that
  • Enjoying the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi far more than the rather empty and soul-less boulevards of New Delhi
  • Generally bemusing the locals by photographing what they must’ve thought was the most mundane things to them

Next photo set will be on the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra.
