About three weeks ago in December, Leanne and Eugene invited four of us (Kay, Andrew, Terry, and myself) around for a late Sunday lunch at their apartment in Limehouse. They really went all out and laid on a feast covering multiple cuisines ranging from Singaporean roti prata to Vietnamese rare beef salad. And to finish off all those delicious main courses was a homemade fruit crumble dessert with ice cream.
It was unquestionably a chilled way to spend Sunday with friends. And since it was lunch it was superb still having the evening to do all those little tasks and relax properly before work on Monday.
Fast forward from then to last weekend when I invited Leanne and Eugene around to mine for dinner to thank them for that lunch and have them try out the kara age recipe I’d been practicising earlier in the week. Tried it out on my line manager a few days ago and he really enjoyed it so it was reassuring to get a positive second opinion from them.
And, same as getting the surprise house warming presents from Winnie and Sissi, they completely surprised me by getting me this swish John Rocha serving plate which can you see below:

So my sincere thanks to both Leanne and Eugene not only for lunch, nor for coming round for being second round food guinea pigs, but also for the wonderful gift. Another excellent reason to keep on cooking.
Hmm … what recipe to make next? :)
