Yum Cha

With Yoko and Julian back in London for a few days, took them so that we could all try a new dim sum called called Yum Cha that Time Out had recommended. Interestingly, it wasn’t in Chinatown but up in Camden which made for a refreshing change of venue.

We ordered the usual dim sum favourites to see how it would turn and we weren’t disappointed at all – especially the har gau which was was perfectly cooked. One tiny quibble that I had was that it didn’t serve my favourite Shanghai xiao long bao but otherwise we all enjoyed the food.

Food aside, it was great to catch up with both of them as it has been several months and have fun hearing how their wedding plans for next year have progressed. That makes three scheduled for 2009 now!

So, all in all, it was definitely worth the trip up to get to Yum Cha and another great alternative to my current Chinatown fav – Leong’s Legend.
